Piermont Local Attractions

Pier & Riverfront
Walk, bike or fish along the almost mile-long historic pier stretching into the Hudson River. You can see the Tappan Zee Cuomo Bridge to the left and the Hudson River Estuary, marsh and Tallman Mountain State Park to the right.

Flywheel Park & Gallery
The historic flywheel is a piece of machinery which helped power the steam-driven Piermont Paper Company in 1902. Today it is on display in Flywheel Park which is surrounded by restaurants, art galleries, the Piermont library and views of the Hudson River.

Piermont Historic District
If you walk along Piermont Avenue, Ferndon Avenue and Paradise Avenue, you will see a range of historic buildings and the Sparkill Creek drawbridge.

Downtown
Piermont Avenue will take you downtown where you can find a range of restaurants, cafes, live music, stores and our local thrift shop.

Parelli Park Beach
In front of Parelli Park you will find our local beach, community garden and Piermont Rowing Club.

Piermont Railroad Station
Piermont Railroad Station (1873) is a historic train station along the Old Erie Path

DeWint House
In the neighboring town of Tappan, see the historic DeWint House. Built in 1700, this is the oldest building in Rockland County. This was the temporary headquarters of George Washington during the American Revolution.
Piermont Outdoor Activities

Tallman Mountain State Park
Tallman Mountain State Park has walking and hiking trails, picnic areas, a running track, tennis courts and cross county skiing. Dogs are allowed on leash. From the top of Tallman Mountain you can enjoy gorgeous views of the Hudson River, the marsh and estuary, the Pier and waterfront of Piermont, and the Tappan Zee Cuomo Bridge.

Tappan Zee Marina
Slips, docking & overnight docking available at the Tappan Zee Marina with boat rentals from Freedom Boat Club

Piermont Marsh
The Marsh and estuary runs between Tallman Mountain and the Pier, where Sparkill Creek flows into the Hudson River. Perfect for fishing and kayaking or watching the birds and wildlife, you can enjoy seeing the tidal flow of the marsh.

Joseph B Clarke Rail Trail
The 3.8 mile paved Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail runs between Tappan and Blauvelt, passing through Piermont. Perfect for biking, running and walking.

Old Erie Path
The 3.4 mile Old Erie Path is a rail train that runs from South Nyack to where it meets the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail in Sparkill. This is a dirt trail, great for hiking and mountain biking.

Rockland Country Club Golf Course
The Rockland Country Club has a 150 acre golf course right next to Tallman Mountain State Park.
